چکیده

Water is vital for humans and other living things, but water pollution has become a significant issue today. Various anthropogenic agricultural, industrial, home activities produce multiple organic inorganic substances dissolved or suspended in water. The goal of wastewater treatment thus twofold: to reduce while also maintaining the supply demand. It based on three 3 Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle. However, many methods used are ineffective expensive. As result, purification matter great interest. Eco-friendly approaches essential among new technologies techniques tested treatment. Aquatic macrophytes treat by accumulating harmful metals nutrients. Like filters, variety aquatic floats can be suggested. Azolla one them, it been decades. Researchers have discovered that Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical (BOD), nitrogen, phosphorus, heavy metal concentrations wastewater; therefore, utilized produces lot biomasses wastewater. use reducing eutrophication lakes streams benefits discussed this study. According literature, high growth rate, with doubling date 2-4 days. Azolla's cell wall composed pectin, which affinity adsorption substances. serves as "biofilter" during way.

Wastewater Treatment by Azolla Filiculoides: A Study on Color, Odor, COD, Nitrate, and Phosphate Removal

The aquatic fern Azolla, a small-leaf floating plant that lives in symbiosis with a nitrogen fixing cyanobacteria (Anabaena), is an outstanding plant, thanks to its high biomass productivity along with its tremendous rate per unit area for nitrogen-fixation.  The present study investigates the potential growth of Azolla in secondary effluents for removal of COD, phosphorus, and nitrogen. Resul...

Treatment of wastewater by electrocoagulation: a review.

The electrocoagulation (EC) process is an electrochemical means of introducing coagulants and removing suspended solids, colloidal material, and metals, as well as other dissolved solids from water and wastewaters. The EC process has been successfully employed in removing pollutants, pesticides, and radionuclides. This process also removes harmful microorganisms. More often during EC operation,...

Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment: A Review

The first experiments on the use of wetland plants to treat wastewaters were carried out in the early 1950s by Dr. Käthe Seidel in Germany. The first full scale systems were put in operation during the late 1960s and since then constructed wetland systems have been spreading throughout the world. At present, there are several types of constructed wetlands used for wastewater treatment. Free wat...
